In an ongoing project, we investigated different types of bearings in combination with micro-peening.
Various temperature cycles were applied to treat the bearings.
Under optimal conditions for a specific treatment cycle, an initial key conclusion can be drawn: cryogenically treated bearings (without peening) exhibit reduced vibration and lower power consumption.
It was also observed that, in this case, the bearing operating temperatures were reduced by seven degrees.
